Duplicate (1998 film)

Duplicate is an Indian Bollywood action comedy film released onMay 1998. The movie was directed by Mahesh Bhatt and stars Shahrukh Khan in a double role opposite Juhi Chawla and Sonali Bendre. It was produced by Karan Johars Dharma Productions and marks Shahrukhs first of five collaborations with the production company. The storyline is similar to the 1935 movie The Whole Towns Talking. Hollywood film The One starring Jet Li has similiraities with this film.

The Music is scored by Anu Malik and Lyrics is penned by Javed Akhtar. The songs were Voiced by Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Alka Yagnik amp Kavita Krishnamurthy. The songs Ek Shararat Hone Ko Hai amp Kathai Aankhon Wali were very popular.Duplicate grossed 17.39 crore US2.6million in India andmillion 4.10 crore in other countries, for a worldwide total of 21.49 crore US3.2million, against its 9.50 crore US1.4million budget. It had a worldwide opening week of 9.44 crore US1.4million. It is the 12thhighestgrossing film of 1998 worldwide. ........
